Animation for Save the Children Ukraine
Concept development, animation, model creation and video editing. Shot in our UK studio.
Save the Children’s Ukraine office needed an animated video to use in trainings with military in Ukraine, describing what the Safe Schools Declaration means in practice.
The script was developed in collaboration with Save the Children’s Ukraine office. We worked with illustrator Katy Jackson to find the right sequences for drawn animations. Mats created the live action parts of the video.
international english version and ukrainian version of the video.
We used old military instruction manuals to find an animation style that was unique and easy to work with. We settled for a mix of animation and video of real objects.
We produced several versions of the video: Ukrainian and English, long and short.
The video was used by Save the Children Ukraine, in workshops with Ukrainian forces and civil servants. This all took place in 2021, before the Russian invasion in 2022.
